About the Client: 

The client is a very popular and well-known chain of filling stations in the USA. They are one of the pioneer distributors of petroleum products across the country. There are 237 filling stations in the USA. The client was looking for an mobile app development service provider to develop a mobile application for the users to find and navigate the nearest gas station. 

What did they want? 

They wanted to launch their official mobile application leveraging on location service. It will track the nearest gas filling station and navigate the users toward it. Moreover, there will be information on the petroleum products, services, and other facilities that are available at their filling station. 

The users can also view upcoming events and other promotional activities in that they can participate from the app. There will be a membership option as well on the app that will record the reward point as part of the loyalty program. The customers can also give their reviews or register to complain about any particular gas station. 

Challenges: 

The Appzlogic development team faced a few challenges to enable different features of the app. 

• After the registration of the user, it will store the driving license. There would be an integral feature on the app that will notify the users when the license is about to expire. The challenge was raised when our team realized that the license expiry is different for each user. 
• The app would also collect the vehicle and mileage data of the registered users. As there was so much data on the fly; we needed to make a storage place for it. 
• The users must filter as per the region, location, and service requirements. 

Solutions We Provide: 

To ensure that every user must be aware of their license expiry date before it comes; we integrated Android Local Push Notifications-Alarm Manager to notify the users about their upcoming driving license expiry date. 

To store different data regarding the vehicle and mileage; we use local SQLite DB. Additionally, for complex filter management; the SOL Query along with the app code is required. 

Result: 

Team Appzlogic has successfully delivered the official application for the gas station chain. It has drastically reduced the time and effort of people by searching the nearest gas station. It also makes the driver more conscious about their driving history and license expiry date.
